Ben Brewer is the ghost haunting the Brewer family home. Karen thinks he haunts their attic and the third floor of the Brewer-Thomas mansion.
Biography[]
In Karen's Ghost, Karen and Kristy find a diary belonging to Ben's son, Jeremy. In it, Jeremy tells the supposedly true story about his father: when Ben was nine, he had a friend called Edward Porter. During a fight, Ben told Edward that he was no longer invited to his birthday party. Edward disappeared right after that, never to be found. People speculated that the boy had drowned. Jeremy writes that an enraged Edward began haunting Ben and that he was the one to turn Ben into a ghost.
Ben's described as having been a recluse with a habit of eating fried dandelions. He was born on October 31st.

- In Karen's Ghost he is Karen's great grandfather. In later books and BSC books, he's Watson's great grandfather (making him Karen's great great grandfather).
