Karen borrows the pin anyway. Then she loses it in the snow. Uh-oh. Now what is Karen going to do?
Summary[]
Watson finds out that his distant cousin has passed away. She leaves him a family heirloom- a beautiful gold pin with pearls and diamonds. To Karen's dismay, Watson gives the pin to Kristy to show that she is truly a part of his family. Karen asks to borrow the pin multiple times, but is always told no. Then when Kristy is at a friend's house, Karen sneaks into her room and takes the pin. She wears it on the inside of her sweater and goes to play in the snow with Hannie. The girls have so much fun... until they take off their coats and- oh no! Karen's sweater feels much lighter. The pin is gone! Karen and Hannie look for the pin with no luck. Karen keeps this a secret until Kristy confronts her a week later and asks where the pin went. Kristy is crushed when she learns that the pin is gone forever. Karen tries to make it up to her with a fake, paper pin. Eventually the girls realize their fight is childish and make up. Kristy presents Karen with matching bracelets that read, "Sisters Forever."
