- Chapter 5 references the two Thanksgivings that Andrew and Karen had in Karen's Surprise.
- On page 20, Karen recalls when Claudia's grandmother went to the hospital and died there on page 20.
- Grandma B, Esther Barnard, is mentioned to be Karen's previous adopt-a-grandparent before Nancy adopted her on page 70.
Inconsistencies
- On the cover Karen is wearing her blue glasses which is supposed to be her reading glasses. Her pink ones are her regular use glasses.
