Pop-Pop or Charles "Charlie" Porter is Dawn and Jeff's maternal grandfather and Sharon Spier's father. His wife is Granny Porter and a member of the Porter Family.
Biography[]
He has lived in Stoneybrook his whole life and currently still lives there at 747 Betrand Drive. Prior to the series, Pop-pop was in army; he would write letters to his wife while in basic training. He kept all the letters they wrote to each other and paperwork from when he was a kid in the top two drawers in his office. Pop-Pop was also a big banker who is now retired. He is an organized person and had an office he frequently used in the finished basement.
In Dawn's Book, he celebrates his fiftieth wedding anniversary and goes to San Francisco to celebrate with his family.

- When he was eleven, he wrote a prize-winning essay on what it means to be an American. In Mary Anne and the Music Box Secret, Sharon finds the essay among many of his and Granny's papers.
